CS:GO and Valorant Ranks Comparison

CS:GO and Valorant Ranks Comparison

If you’re coming from CS:GO, Valorant most likely won’t be as much of a culture shock as you’d expect. Sure, it has Agents with unique abilities, but the gunplay and tactics remain largely in the same vein.

Naturally, a lot of CS:GO veterans are wondering how their ranks in CS:GO would translate in Valorant or vice versa.

We’re comparing the 18 skill groups in CS:GO against the 22 skill groups in Valorant to see how data can help us get an accurate rank conversion.

Valorant and CS:GO rank comparison

According to data from Esports Tales, the bulk of Valorant players are currently located in the ‘Silver 1’ skill group, while only 0.1% of players have reached the top ‘Radiant’ skill group. Similarly, the majority of CS:GO players are located in the ‘Gold Nova III’ skill group, while 0.75% of players have reached the top ‘Global Elite’ skill group.

Rank conversions from CS:GO to Valorant

As these predictions are theoretical, it’s impossible to pinpoint the converted skill groups without a margin for error.

Still, they give a fairly precise measure of expectations to anyone looking for a rank conversion.

  •  Silver I players should expect to be somewhere around Iron 2 or Iron 3
  •  Silver II players should expect to be near Iron 3
  •  Silver III and Silver IV players should expect to be close to Bronze 1 and Bronze 2
  •  Silver IV players should perform well in Bronze 3
  •  Silver Elite players can expect to be in Silver 1
  •  Silver Elite Master players should expect to be somewhere around Silver 2 or Silver 3
  •  Gold Nova I players should end up in Silver 3 or Gold 1
  •  Gold Nova II players should expect to be in Gold 1
  •  Gold Nova III players should end up in Gold 2
  •  Gold Nova Master players should expect to be close to Gold 2 and Gold 3

Be aware that these are just estimates, and especially higher ranks transitioning from CS:GO might encounter a bit of a skill gap against higher-ranked players in Valorant being more accustomed to using abilities.

That’s normal and part of what makes learning a new game fun!
