The legendary plays that became CS:GO graffiti

Throughout the extensive lifespan of CS:GO, we’ve seen awe-inspiring plays from several amazing players, but a select few stand out as being truly iconic. To commemorate their part of Counter-Strike history, these moments of brilliance have been immortalized as graffiti in-game.

Relive the incredible plays that stunned the competitive world of CS:GO and solidified names like s1mple and olofmeister in the Hall of Fame.

In the semifinals of ESL One Cologne 2014 featuring Fnatic and Team Dignitas, the two teams were neck and neck in the 29^th round. While initially leaving the B-site open for Team Dignitas to plant the bomb, Fnatic succeeded in fending off both device and FeTiSh to retake the site.

Enveloped by a rolling blaze from device’s Molotov that would eventually kill him, olofmeister managed to defuse the bomb with less than a second to spare.

Valve tributed olofmeister’s sacrifice with permanent graffiti on the nearby wall next to the bombsite. The graffiti features a winged Counter-Terrorist holding a defuse kit while standing in a towering inferno. 

At the semifinals of the MLG Major Columbus 2016 featuring Team Liquid versus Luminosity Gaming, coldzera single-handedly prevented his team from losing the match. While holding apartments on Mirage, the Brazilian superstar apprehended a full Team Liquid on their way to rush B.

Quick to dispatch the leading adreN, coldzera then fixed his sights on the rest of the squad, taking out s1mple and EliGE with a single no-scope and following it up with a final no-scope to down nitr0.

It was a play that would go on to inspire a 10-round winning streak, turning the score from 9-15 to 19-15 and ultimately winning the match.

Valve paid homage to the impressive performance with a permanent graffiti on the wall to the right of where it happened. The graffiti features a winged AWP with 4 red skulls instead of a scope.

The CS:GO Major Championships are the most prestigious tournaments in modern Counter-Strike. Teams play for ultimate glory as they compete in three grueling stages to reach the finals. Naturally, with everything on the line, tensions are incredibly high throughout the entire tournament.

Nonetheless, in the later rounds of the semi-finals of ESL One Cologne 2016 between Fnatic and Team Liquid on Cache, s1mple performed what was to become one of the most famous feats in CS:GO history. Alone in a 1v2 clutch against Fnatic, the young superstar jumped from Heaven, killing dennis with a falling no-scope, and following it up with another no-scope to take out KRIMZ and win the round.

Naturally, both fans and commentators were absolutely stunned by the daring stunt, and it stands as one of the defining moments of s1mple's career.

The event was officially immortalized by Valve with a permanent graffiti below the platform on heaven. The graffiti features an airborne terrorist with wings holding an AWP without a scope.

Honorable mention: Quadruple AWP’s

At the finals of the ESL One Cologne 2015 featuring Fnatic and Team EnVyUs on Dust II, one team surprised everyone by buying 4 AWP’s at the start of the 33^rd round. Hellbent on halting the enemy team from taking mid, Fnatic had decided to maximize their chances of success.

Their combined efforts only managed to take out a single enemy player, but the way they managed to do it had never been seen before in professional Counter-Strike.

While it has since been taken down, Valve originally honored the strategy with permanent graffiti on the wall next to T-spawn. The graffiti featured a Terrorist holding 4 AWP’s at the same time.
