League of Legends Announces a Visual Update for Elise in Season 12
Riot has been steadily improving the visual effects of LoL's more veteran champions, including Vayne and Vel'Koz. This is done in an effort to update champions that have been around since the early stages of the game and make them feel new again. One notable example of this is Elise, a renowned shapeshifting Jungler who was released a decade ago and has remained the same since then.
Being a champion that's been around for a long time, she was certainly due for a visual update, and in response to this Riot has stated that they will be revamping her kit.
A massive VFX update revealed
As one of League's shapeshifting champions, Elise has a number of abilities that Riot will have to update. One of these is her ability known as Cocoon, which now shoots a more vibrant and conspicuous web when used. This makes the hitbox a lot clearer compared to the previously white web that was difficult to track.
Some of her other abilities, such as Neurotoxin, Volatile Spiderling, and Rappel, have also received visual overhauls. Her attacks have also been defined with solid red and black, and she has also gained a more defined outer circle that signifies her landing range.
All the affected skins in the upcoming visual update
The major skins affected by the update are
- Death Blossom
- Victorious
- Blood Moon
- SKT T1
- Super Galaxy
The update will make her more pleasing to players who main Elise and have left her behind. It will also make it easier to play against her as her abilities are now more refined. The VFX Update will go live on Summoners Rift in the upcoming Patch 12.5.
