League of Legends Patch 11.19 highlights
With Worlds 2021 around the corner, Riot are focusing their attention on champion buffs and nerfs specifically for the World Championship. The update also adds a brand new champion, Vex, as well as new and returning skins.
Vex, The Gloomist enters the Rift
Originally revealed during the Sentinels of Light event in July, Vex finally hits live servers with Patch 11.19. Thanks to her passive Doom ‘n Gloom and her E, Looming Darkness, she’ll focus on being anti-dash and should be great at silencing mobile champions mid-lane.
She especially looks to be effective in peeling for teammates or engaging team fights.
You can check out her ability rundown here.
Champion adjustments ahead of Worlds 2021
In anticipation of the 2021 Season World Championship starting this October, Riot are buffing a slew of champions including Aatrox, Renekton, Akali, and Cho’Gath. While nothing major, these buffs work to balance out minor unintentional weaknesses and disadvantages brought on by Patch 11.18.
Nerfs to Sona, Ryze, Kennen, Soraka, and Varus hope to lessen their overall output and dominance that usually sky-rockets in Pro play.

A total of 8 skins are going live in this update, including a new Dawnbringer skin for Vex as well as an exclusive Worlds 2021 Jarvan IV skin.
