League’s 12.5 Patch Preview reveals buffs for Seraphine
The patch preview for League’s upcoming update, 12.5, highlights changes for Seraphine, nerfs to Ahri and Master Yi, along with a system adjustment for popular item Hullbreaker.
Designer on the Summoner’s Rift team, Riot Developer ‘Phlox’ gave League fans a preview of the changes coming in the game’s March 2 patch while also explaining the recent buffs to Seraphine.
Hullbreaker receives significant nerfs
A legendary item, Hullbreaker rose to prominence after Riot issued nerfs for Goredrinker, another legendary item, leaving players to find Hullbreaker a viable item to play around with. The new set of nerfs halve the self resistance buff granted from 20-60 armor and its magic resist to 10-30, with level based scaling. This adjustment will affect this legendary items popularity with Graves, who has been dominating top-lanes with his passive stacked up top.
Samira receives buffs amidst declining win-rate
Riot Design Lead ‘Phroxzon’ explained that the current buffs to Samira will amplify her as a support, highlighting the statistics that display the champ’s declining win-rate as a support unit. The newest set of buffs also allow her to maintain momentum on mid.

However, League fans should note that the balance changes highlighted in the preview are not final as Riot monitors the slew of included buffs and nerfs on PBE. Due to President’s day in the USA, the upcoming patch would be a shorter patch than the rest, but will contain impactful balance changes as highlighted. Patch 12.5 is scheduled to release on Wednesday, March 2.
