Olaf and Taliyah To Receive Reworks in Season 12
Riot has announced plans to rework Taliyah and Olaf as part of their popular ‘mid-scope’ reworks. This follows the most recent updates to Ahri, Sona, Rengar, and Lucian to name a few.
Getting back into the meta
In recent patches, Riot has shown previously neglected champions a lot of love in terms of updating both visuals and abilities to match the current meta. Older champions have previously struggled with the newer and more explosive meta, making them fall out of favor with the player base.
Now, Riot looks to correct their negligence by reworking these former outsiders and bringing them back into play. Following their most recent updates to Ahri, Sona, Rengar, and Lucian, the developer now sets its sights on Olaf and Taliyah for their next ‘mid-scope’ reworks according to Lead Champion Designer at Riot Games, August Browning.
We're beginning to ramp up work on "mid-scope updates". These are larger sets of changes for champions that can take a couple months to lock down. The recent Ahri and Janna adjustments are examples of work in this space.

The reworks will reportedly not be as drastic as some have suspected to keep the essence of their kit intact. Instead, the updates will work to fine-tune certain aspects that keep them out of the meta.
No date has been given for the reworks as of yet, but players can expect them to go live sometime later in League of Legends Season 12.
