'Renata' League of Legends Support Champion Leaked
Even though we’ve only just welcomed Riot’s latest champion, Zeri, fans are already digging up new info on the next champion scheduled to hit the Rift this year.
We’ll take a look at what we know and could know about League of Legends’ 159th champion.
What do we know about the next Champion?
During their Season 12 launch Livestream, Riot put some words behind the thoughts that went into creating their upcoming support champion.
“When we were thinking about the type of support we wanted to make, we looked at the enchanter cast overall.” lead champion producer Ryan ‘Reav3’ Mireles explained.
The goal was to “make a champion whose theme and kit makes support players feel like the boss,” while steering away from the current cast of bright and cheerful themes currently dominating many of the support roles.
Instead, the new enchanter will take the enchanter role in a different, darker direction.
“There are a lot of lighthearted, colorful, good-aligned champions there and we felt support players deserved something more sinister and dark to balance out that cheery brightness in the role.”
New support champion abilities, leaks, and release
As per usual with leaks, we have data miners to thank for possibly giving us the name of the new support champion.
This time, the leak doesn’t come from League of Legends, but from the Chinese edition of Teamfight Tactics, in which the name ‘Renata’ has been dug up in the game files.
‘Renata’ seems to be included in TFT Set 6.5 Neon Nights which features the arrival of Silco and a completely new cast of champions.
''Renata'' was datamined from a game called 金铲铲之战 which is a chinese mobile version of TFT. They got their own skin line and everything and they might do the same thing with champions now. But what for some reason https://t.co/P2fOaYx84M is private.https://t.co/r4qBbdqdYt pic.twitter.com/PmrDsbmCZy

Another leak on Reddit confirmed the name ‘Renata’ and revealed her traits and skills in a post on the official Teamfight Tactics subreddit.
If the leaks are true, ‘Renata’ is expected to drop in League of Legends after TFT Set 6.5 Neon Nights which looks to release in the middle of February.
Most likely, the release will be in connection with either 12.5 March 2, or 12.6 March 30.
