Riot Implements Changes to League’s Event Progression System

Through a blog post, Riot’s League Team has announced the new changes to be implemented to the game’s Event Progression system, changing the way players earn points to complete Missions and Objectives for the Event pass.

The overhauled Progression System seeks to reward players for their time, instead of the number of games played.

  • ARAM and Event Game Modes: Earn 4 points per minute, 6 upon winning.
  • All TFT Game Modes: Earn 2 points per minute, 3 upon placing 1st/2nd/3rd.
  • Co-op vs AI Game Modes: Earn 1 point per minute, 2 upon winning.

Riot Design Lead ‘Rovient’ explained that the older progression system didn't reward players' 'time commitment' while also making it easier for them to come up with methods of completing events by playing shorter game modes.

The developers will monitor the new changes made live during the Debonair event and consider future system adjustments based on the data gathered.

Players can expect the new Points system to be implemented in-game starting December 9, along with the Patch 11.24 release.
