Riot Reveal Abilities for Newest Champion, Zeri
Zeri is the latest champion dropping onto the Rift with patch 12.2. Riot showcased her kit following their Season 12 live stream, and one of the main takeaways was her surprising amount of mobility, including her ability to vault walls.
Her mix of self-shielding, move speed buffs, poke, and range makes her seem like a blend of Talon and Vayne, with a splash of Blitzcrank in her ultimate.
Another dashing champion for the bot lane
Zeri has previously been teased as having an emphasis on movement speed and mobility, letting her whizz up and down the lane to escape or close in on opponents. This turned out to be true.
Her passive, ‘Living Battery’ lets her gain Move Speed whenever she receives a shield from an ally or steals a shield from an opponent.
‘Burst Fire’ turns her basic attack from a magic damage ability into a 7-round burst that deals physical damage to the first opponent it hits. Moving while casting also stacks up energy, slowing and dealing bonus damage when fully stacked.
Her ‘Ultrashcok Laser’ can be used in two ways – when fired directly in front of an opponent, it deals damage and slows. Firing it from behind a wall gives it increased range, practically turning into a less powerful version of Lux’s ‘Final Spark’.
‘Spark Surge’ also has two uses, with the first being a standard dash to be used as a buff for ‘Burst Fire’. Dashing into a wall will let her vault over or grind alongside it, further adding to her great mobility.
Her ultimate, ‘Lightning Crash’, is a somewhat basic AOE ability that also gives Zeri increased damage, movement, and attack speed. Every time she hits an opponent with an ability during her ultimate, the duration is increased, and adds another stack of movement speed.
