Through their recent Champion Roadmap post, Riot Games have lifted the veil on the visual and gameplay update (VGU) for League's ferocious spirit walker, Udyr.

After revealing that a visual overhaul for the champion was in active development over the last few months, Riot gave League fans a glimpse of the champion's finished base model.

Lead Champion Producer 'Reav3' revealed Riot's intent to build on Udyr's visuals, and not reinvent them. Riot also shed light on their goal of preserving the champ's original essence, so that it represents the time he spent training in Ionia, the home of champions Irelia and Ahri.

“We want to upgrade Udyr’s visuals to modern League standards while keeping his general theme of a warrior shaman intact." added Ryan 'Reav3' Mireles. After giving fans an in-depth look at his VGU development in mid-February, Riot’s League team unveiled the champ’s Spirit Guard model.
