Every Map in Valorant Ranked from Worst to Best

To be successful in any tactical shooter, understanding the map is key, and if you're looking to climb the ranks in Valorant, you'll want to make sure you know every nook and cranny. You should be able to fully utilize the skills of your Agent by using the terrain to your advantage.

The effect different maps have on matches is one of the many things that makes Valorant fun to play. Whether you are attacking or defending, each map offers different advantages for you to make use of.

Here are our VALORANT map rankings based on the tactical advantages they provide on either offense or defense.

Ascent

Ascent was the first map ever developed and designed by Valorant and the fourth map released. Located in Venice, Italy, this map is known for its open areas which can make early rounds very difficult to control. The map has two orbs, one in B main and one in A-main.

Ascent provides an open area with a shooting gallery in the middle but can be very limiting. The mid area of the map is often considered the focal point of a strategy, as it splits the map in half. Both teams have sightlines that extend towards each other. This map offers more opportunities for attacks, giving an advantage to agents with high mobility.

This floating island map also features unique interactable doors that give players various gameplay opportunities. Most areas can be accessed through various corridors and a team with great communication can put this to good use. Smokes and walls can help slow down attackers by keeping them occupied. They can also prevent retaking sites.

Although Ascent is generally a fun map to play, it can be a bit basic and feels limiting as said before. The map doesn't provide you with a lot of options when consistently playing. This is understandable as the game continues to develop and provide more unique approaches to taking sites in newer maps.

Split

Located in Shibuya, Japan, Split is a mix o futuristic and traditional architecture and features multiple levels for players to use. The map has two orbs, one in A main, and one in B main which is also the garage.

Split features a rope system that lets players ascend and descend areas for sneak attacks on unsuspecting opponents. The ropes are located at Mid Vent, B Rafter, and A Sewer.

This map has been available in Valorant from the get-go, and although it is a very fun map to play, it suffers from several complications. Controlling mid is the key to being successful on Split. If you get caught out on-site, try rotating through the various sewer lines, vents, and rafters. Having control over A and B main will also allow you to execute a strategy to take over the respective bomb sites.

The map can be difficult when pushing to either site and feels unbalanced, favoring defenders in the early rounds, which often means that teams starting as attackers end up losing the match.

Haven

Haven is a unique map as it features three bomb sites instead of the usual two. The map is located within a monastery and was inspired by the architecture native to the old villages and cities in Bhutan. The orbs in Haven are located at Long A and Long C.

Site A can be accessed through the L-shaped alleyway and the sewers which serve as underground passages. The alleyway is great for long-range exchanges while the sewers are more suitable for close-quarter combat.

Site B can be accessed through a window that will lead you to the outdoor courtyard. Haven is a map that doesn't necessarily favor attackers or defenders. With a combination of long sightlines, tight spaces, and areas with skirmish potential, Haven is fairly balanced.

On Haven, B is very crucial as it is the battleground that will determine if you can control the mid and freely attack. It’s also the place that will give you the best opportunities to pick off players.
It is perfect for every Agent and ensures that players who effectively communicate and play tactically when rotating and defending sites will succeed.

Breeze

With several spaces for violent long-range battles, Breeze is a fairly new map that keeps defenders and attackers alert if they want to be successfulful. The wide-open spaces leave players with the risk of being easily picked off. The orbs in Breeze are located in A shop and B main.

The complexity of Breeze’s entry points makes it harder to defend against enemies. Various entry points are well-placed to take on enemies on Breeze, and they’ll need a healer to keep them in the game.

Breeze has a sunny resort aesthetic and is a fun map to play. Like Ascent, it also has open spaces and different flank options but feels more balanced.

Breeze can be advantageous for players who enjoy effective flanking agents. The map also comes with various locations that allow players to execute stylish flanks and make smooth plays. The constant action and engaging encounters are what put Breeze as one of the top maps on our list.

Fracture

Fracture is set in a top-secret facility that was split apart by a failed radianite experiment. The H-shaped layout gives it so many opportunities for executing attacks. It has long ziplines connecting various routes underneath. These ziplines are special and move players across at full speed. Players cannot change directions, use abilities, detach, or stop once attached. It is only possible to slow down by holding the shift button.

Fracture splits the map into four quadrants, with each area containing a site and Attacker spawns and a central zone where Defenders can spawn. The map has an orb on each quadrant, giving it a total of four orbs which is different from the usual two orbs on most maps.

Fracture also comes with a variety of new features that make it more competitive and fun at the same time. It's the most recent map in Valorant which came in Episode 3, Act 2, and comes third because of its gameplay options.
Attackers can start on either side of the map, while defenders stay in the middle. Fracture is ranked third because this new feature has provided players with more options when executing well-planned attacks.

Icebox

Inspired by Bennett Island, Russia, this arctic map is full of narrow paths to encourage close-quarter skirmishes. Icebox is considered a difficult map for beginners as it has long rotations. This increases the possibility of a flank if players do not execute swiftly.

Although the map does not have a lot of open space, it makes up for this in verticality. This means that capturing angles at different heights is also key to winning rounds. For example, the map has two sites that are two-tiered. You can either plant the spike on low ground or plant it on high ground. This gives players more options when executing an attack. The two orbs in Icebox are found outside the garage in B and in front of the nest in A, near A site.

In Icebox, agents like Raze, Jett, and Omen may come in handy as they can easily get to vantage points. The map features tight angles, choke points, and long rotations, which ensures players are always alert.

Icebox is ranked second because this snowy tundra map can feel smooth and is perfect for players who love constant skirmishes as it allows for precise gunplay.

Bind

Bind is a two-site map set in Morocco and is one of Valorant's most popular maps. The fan-favorite features four lanes and two teleporters. Two of the four lanes lead to each site and the teleporters make a sound when used. The orbs in Bind can be found at the top of B long and the back of A baths.

Site A can be accessed through an alleyway located in the middle of the map or through another building hallway while Site B can be accessed through the "Hookah" window at the marketplace or through a path along the beach.

Being simple but also engaging, Bind comes in first on our Valorant map rankings list. This desert-like tight-laned map feels very balanced and allows for a tactical playstyle. You can take advantage of its features when using skills and communication can go a long way in executing plays.

Here, teleporters can give you an upper hand. It is up to how well the attackers or defenders execute their play to come out victorious. You want to take advantage of its features such as its one-way teleporters when using skills.
