Valorant Patch 4.08 Highlights
The newest Valorant patch kick-starts Act 4 by introducing the game's 19th playable agent and adds nerfs to popular agents Sova and Jett.
Patch 4.08 attempts to rehaul the current competitive meta by also introducing changes to Neon's kit and includes new adjustments for 5-stack competitive queues.
Riot has now deployed a timer on Jett's Dash, after claiming that the knife-wielding agent's popular ability allowed players to play outside the game's 'tactical cycle'. Instead of being able to activate Tailwind instantaneously, players now have to wait 0.75 seconds to initiate her Dash on the second key press. Also, her Dash would expire if players fail to use it within the set duration of 12 seconds.
On the other hand, Valorant's speedy agent 'Neon' receives a slew of quality-of-life updates as Riot removes the wall damage of her E, Fast Lane while increasing her C ability's energy drain from 6.7 seconds to 10 seconds. Meanwhile, popular initiator Sova receives a nerf to his Owl drone and Shock Dart, with the latter having reduced max damage.

It, however, remains to be seen how Patch 4.08 will impact the current meta as Riot introduces a new initiator into the fray, applying nerfs to fan-favorite agents. The update is scheduled to hit Valorant servers on Wednesday, April 27.
